First thing all people who want to learn magic do is get a piece of paper, scribble crayons on it, then turn off the lights and sit in front of the painting and see if anything appears out of it. If something does then go to the third tallest mountain in China and search for an old man at the top of the mountain and ask him for his secrets. Good luck!

It's rather hard finding any info on truly secular magic, because so many people have incorporated magic into their religion they don't realize they can be separate things. Magic is little more than channeling your energy.

This is on a Wiccan site but it does have a good grasp of ceremonial (non-religious) magic: http://wicca.timerift.net/ceremonial_magic.shtml

Go to a magic store and get a starter kit (magic want, rabbit in hat, disappearing ink, etc.).

Magic is usually the domain of Wiccans and that's a religion.

If you don't want religion, stick to card tricks.

Magical Holy Kiss: Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Magical Interpretation: firstly pure wisdom from above (grace unto you from God our Father) is also firstly peace-able of seven things grace is in James 3's comparison of wisdoms.

Watch the Merliln TV Movie (1998) starring Sam Neil; For the 'real magic is at the end', and it is a religious depiction of 2Timothy 3: "from such turn away" noted in the Holy Bible. For when all collectively turn away from evil(law), it and what it produced vanishes, leaving us all with grace mercy peace.

Merlin Movie: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0130414/

Eg: We know such is beginning to happen ww because of awareness(grace: light: understanding) replacing ignorance(law: darkness: misunderstanding) on the internet. We know it because the Dead Sea is rapidly '''vanishing''', by 1/3 already in last 40 yrs (biblical generation). It's going down by a meter(3ft)/year, to the point the shoreline is now 1Km further than where they built stuff for people who want to float in or cover themselves with mud from this "'dead"' water... allegorically the result of the Horeb-bull mountain of law: Mt Sinai in Arabia, being told: "be thou removed from me and be thou cast into (this) sea"; as noted in Matthew 21:21 of the New Testament of the Holy Bible: the seventh bible.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Religion and magic are both superstition. There's not much difference.

study the elements, meditate and commune with nature and learn from it. study yourself, your spirit, your energy, your life, these are the beginnings, once you can feel the vibrations both inside and out then I would suggest finding a mentor.
