I dont really think that Sega failed, I think they just got left behind when the formatting changed from cartridge games to disc's. The mega drive was extremely popular and could never be considered a failure. As for the PS3, its only problem is they put an expensive blueray player in it, which made the price of the console far too expensive for the average gameplayer to afford. I think the only way they can get more people to buy the console is to remove the blueray player and sell it cheaper. At the end of the day, I want a games console to play games, not watch movies, I have a dvd player for that.

The PSP was on par with the DS. The DS Lite is outselling the PSP. Sony didn't expect to hit a homerun with the PSP. It was just looking for a single, enough to make a dent on the handheld market. And Sony succeeded.
Did you watch each system's conference during E3? MS lead it off, and quite frankly, there's nothing all that interesting about the 360's future. All Peter Moore emphasized was Halo 3 and XBL. Is that all MS has to show for the upcoming year? That's quite pathetic.
Reggie Fils-Aime conference for the Wii was pretty exciting. The introduction of the Wii-Zapper and Wii-Fit adds more interactivity to the Wii. The release of Brawl was the most exciting thing coming from Nintendo. Mario Kart is going to be online, which is cool.
And then there's Sony's conference and post conference interview. Metal Gear Solid 4 is still a PS3 exclusive. The Killzone 2 demo is beginning to prove everyone wrong when they said it couldn't be done for in-game play. LittleBigPlanet is still the talk of the town. Sony annoucing that there's going to be over 100 games for the PS3 this year.

So how long have you work for Microsoft? Or are you just Jealous that you have had to buy the 360 then the Elite and next the 65nm all in less then three years and the 360 still can't compete with what PS3 has to offer.
That has to be an all time record a console with less then a 1 1/2 year life before the manufacturer had to re-release another version just to compete with the other current generation systems.
If every 1 out of 5 360s didn't need to be replaced then the units shipped number would be substantially less.

NO!!!
SEGA was a game only company
SONY has many other electronics to sell if the PS3 fails
The PSP is awesome. ITs really good. but now I use it for its multimedia features not so much the games which was not what it was intened for
I can see if you are disapointed by the PS3 but it has even been out for a year..
People said the same about the 360 when it first came out now look at it its become better with time
Most ppl who critize the PS3 don't have it..
They don't have it because they don't have the money to invest in it
Soooooooo. Eiether your a kid who is lazy and not willing to get a job for the money. or ur a kid and u dont have parents who want to spend money on it for u(both of those r like me :p)
Or ur an adult who doesnt like all those extra features which u dont need
just because you don't like the Ps3 or has the things u want doenst mean u have to compare them to sega.
All the systems out have their pros and cons.
Each does something the other doesnt
Its called a capilst economy and people make diffrent types of things
If you want a perfect console go make ur own company and sell it
Its not failing.
its just stating out slow
remember slow and steady wins the race

Don't know why i'm bothering answering seeing as you're obviously a MS fanboy, but,
PSP; it's actually doing well. If the DS wasn't such a phenominal success, it wouldn't look as bad.
PS3; it's doing OK too, not quite as well as Sony had hoped, yet, but certainly not a disaster.
To be honest, it's Microsoft who should be the most concerned. They didn't make a profit at all from the original Xbox, cut short it's lifespan to release the 360 early (with it's faults which means more expense in returns) and still can't get a decent lead up before the PS3 hits its stride.

Obviously not, if you didn't know, Sony sells more than just game consoles, such as TV's, MP3 players, radios, and many other electronics, Sony is in fact worth 60 billion dollars, while MS is only 40 billion.
Sony shouldn't be concerned, the ps3 isn't selling how it was first predicted to, but it's selling enough. If any company should be concerned it should be microsoft, as they just admitted to all 360's being faulty and causing them to lose up to 1 billion dollars http://money.cnn.com/2007/07/05/technology/microsoft_charge.reut/index.htm?cnn=yes

Brainwashed much?
You are so faithfully loyal to Microsoft that you fail to see the great PS3 product and the inferiority/poor quality of the Xbox. The PS3 doesn't have the red circle of death, and offers a variety of things the Xbox cannot, or does not.
It's cheaper than an Xbox with all the same capabilities (+ HD-DVD player), but rabid Microsoft loyal fans spread lies about it. If you don't like it, play with your Xbox. Stop spamming the internet with propaganda.
