It is precisely because the Catholic Church possesses the fullness of Christian truth that it has no conflicts with scientific truth. Truth cannot conflict with truth. Therefore Catholic teaching cannot conflict with clearly demonstrated facts of science. We know for certain that Protestantism is rife with untruth, simply because the beliefs of each denomination conflict with the beliefs of the others, and again, truth cannot conflict with truth. Conflicting beliefs mean false beliefs, and the history of manmade denominational religion is a history of increasingly conflicting beliefs.

As soon as they began to split scientific hairs, I stopped listening. Evolutionary theory is a scientific theory. We scientists do not need religious input into our theoretical concepts. If a scientist is a believer, that is his affair, as long as the truth is not subjected to religious perspectives.

Hmm, more religious rationalization.

"Gee, evolution seems to have some basis, so how can we still squeeze and twist it into what we want to believe?"

It's still religious superstition not based on fact.
