Congratulations (in advance) on your big day....
not sure if you going for Country style formal, or bear and BBQ, so I will give it a try....

Getting mini drumstick chicken wings, and frying up like southern fried chicken (can be done in advance and chilled) are great finger foods.
Smokies (little sausages) in BBQ Sauce with toothpicks.
Melon Balls wrapped in prosciutto ham (honey dew and cantelope for great color)
Pulled Pork or BBQ Shredded beef with mini rolls on side for sandwiches.
Riblets.. (most BBQ Places will do this for you) but ether baby backs or spare ribs smoked and grilled, then cut into 1 bone (rib) sections.
Mini-country sausage quiches.
Hope this helps.... again congratulations...

Definitely something like "tea" sandwiches are in order. Something along the lines of croisants with chicken salad and walnuts.... cucumber sandwiches.... egg salad.... things like that. You'll also want to have some cookies. There are all kinds of shapes available, whether homemade, or store bought. Fruit skewers are an excellent choice, and decorate the table with chocolate covered strawberries. (Went to a wedding reception where the strawberries looked like they were wearing tuxedos. Super cute.)

For drinks, keep it simple. Have some tea and coffee for those who insist on having it at all times of the day and night. Sodas, boxed wine, a keg or two.... Anything you think will go over well with your crowd.

Congrats on your up-coming day, and good luck on pulling it all together. It's not easy planning a big shin dig.

Definately do the relish trays but I'd also add small sandwiches with the crusts cut off, cute crackers with toppings, The sandwiches can be frozen and then thawed. Cream cheese can be flavored and colored. One of my cousins had a fake caviar spread made with olives that was really good. You could do some cute marzipan pumpkins. Just so you know there are also many edible flowers that can really jazz up your simple finger food choices, pansies, roses, nasturiums- they come in pretty fall colors,

i'm no longer attempting to offend all of us however the innovations maximum gave sound like i could be going to 3 lunch interior the park accumulating no longer a ideal or perhaps casual variety wedding ceremony. Fruit plates confident are super they're ordinary to prepare by ability of ones self and exceptionally affordable too yet i might advise making a visit on your interior of reach deli and choosing out occasion plates for the appetizers like the cheese and crackers and meat plates, that's all sparkling and gourmand. they're actual no longer too badly priced. in case you like a buffet for dinner decide to your extra antipastos and have a considerable meat dish, salad and rolls. otherwise have a caterer or the region you're doing all your reception at do a sequence dinner with fowl (could be the main inexpensive) and a mashed potato and veggie. Then dessert could desire to be like a small piece of cheesecake or cake or sorbet is often large. it particularly is all common yet in contrast to your going to a bar-b-que. yet interior the top foodstuff is your selection and could mirror your wedding ceremony and your character and style buds. As for the centerpieces flow to michaels or your interior of reach fabrics shop and get some faux flora and leaves and make vases with them or perhaps get fish bowls and get beads of the colour of your wedding ceremony and fill with water then and a few flora. place little photos of you and your fiance in little frames on the tables to enable customer take abode as a reminiscence of the day.

Cocktail sausages, a pasta salad, a fruit tray or fruit salad, veggie tray, cookies, nuts.

And, here's a website with lots of ideas and directions for making little sandwiches, like smoked salmon on pumpernickel and asparagus & aocado wraps that would be good.

traditionally cheese straws or cheese sticks are served, along with mints and nuts. it depends on how involved you want to get and how fancy you want it. .

i used to cater weddings and some of the most enjoyable ones were the simplest. cheese straws, veggies with dip, cheese and crackers, olive and such dish, cheese ball and cracker, fruit pieces with dip or sausage balls with dips. really just finger foods that are good tasting, inexpensive and easy to carry around on a plate.

i used to make that were really popular. 1 jar of marshmellow creme whipped together with 1 container of cream cheese put in a fancy bowl, add a sprig of mint on top and cut up fruit into bite size pieces and arrange nicely on a platter. you can put a couple of ice packs underneath to keep the fruit cool and use those nettings to keep flies and other critters out. also try this: canned mushrooms mixed with cream cheese and celery salt to taste, spread on slices of white bread and toast in the oven until cream cheese is soft and warm. take out and slice into fourths, trimming the crust from them. you do not have to keep them warm they just need to be heated once. also you will need a box of ritz crackers, a pound of bacon, slices cut in half and shredded parmesan cheese. add a little parmesan cheese to the tops of the crackers, wrap a half slice of bacon around them and bake for 45 minutes until bacon is crisp and cheese is melted, you can serve warm or at room temperature.

good luck, its sounds like a wonderful wedding and reception
