Revolution is expensive but its a wonder drug; 30 days of no fleas for my cat.
FYI Revolution treats more problems than Advantage.

A dehumidifier to keep the air dry and dry out any eggs before they hatch can help a lot.
Don't constantly keep dosing the cats, the more stuff youput on them, the more chemicals they're absorbing and these chemicals are dangerous in quantity, they can damage the liver or even kill the cats.
Call your vet. Describe what's happening and ask what the best course of treatment should be. They're aware of what fleas do in your environment (Florida weather is different than Wisconsin weather and flea infestations are treated for differently, for instance). You're exposing yourself to these same chemicals too, remember, which isn't good.
I've listed a good site below. Do NOT use garlic for cats, do NOT use essential oils, both are toxic. The brewers yeast will be the best natural remedy to keep fleas off you and the cats. A flea dies normally in 90 days, but if it won't 'eat', it'll die sooner.

I used something called MYCODEX PLUS aerosol spray and it worked. You just spray it all over your carpet and furniture, pay special attention to where the cats hang out. I got it at my vets, but you can get it on line, it was worth every penny. When you wash all bedding make sure you wash in the hottest temperature you can. Get advantage or frontline for the cats. Vacuum ever day for a couple of weeks, and remove and seal the vacuum bag each time. It usually takes several attempts to get rid of fleas but it can be done. Mycodex really works, and they have a 1800 # staffed by experts on fleas that can answer all of your questions. EDIT if it's that bad you may want to consider a proffesional exterminator. I battled fleas for weeks on my own and ended up spending as much money as I would have if I had had an exterminator come in.

First you need to remove the cats from the house and re bomb your house. It might not always take one time, but it will work.
You need to dip your cats. I also suggest giving them capstar. It kills ADULT fleas within 30 minutes. And you can give them one everyday if needed. You can get if off of 1800petsmeds.com This combo should do the trick. You also need to treat your yard, front and back.
If your cats are indoor/outdoor cats, you need to put them on a monthly dosage of advantage.
Hope this helps!
