The reason I want to know this is because I've lost my wallet twice and luckily I found them both times but during the time I couldn't find my wallet, the idea of having to go through the process of getting a new license stressed me out, so I want to know if this or something similar to this is possible.

Copies are not the "certified" copy so the answer is no. You just need to learn to be more careful with your wallet ~ leave it in the same place at the house all the time (along with your keys) and this won't be a problem :)

Go to the Secretary of State. Tell them you lost your license. You will pay somewhere between $9-15 for a new one. They will give you a paper copy which is valid for 1 year, they will also send a new license in the mail. That way you will have 2 licenses and 1 extra official paper copy in case you lose one.

A copy of your license would be too easy to falsify. A Police Officer wouldn't be able to trust the information on it as genuine.

NO, you have to have the real license. I know of no state which will accept a photocopy when a police officer asks to see you license.

Next time you go get a license pay for a duplicate and then you will have an extra.

It doesn't count. You can receive a citation for failure to display your license.

NO, not in your wallet.

You can keep a photocopy as backup to make it easier to get a replacement, ie. knowing the number, etc....but that's it.....
