Thanks pastorjohn59..there are vigilante groups who might fight any assistance given to these poor people.
I don't think its right to turn our backs on them to die in the desert.

You raise an interesting question that I believe has two answers. Paul tells us that God has established governments and that we are to be subject to them (Romans). This is incredible considering that the Roman government was killing Christians at the time.

So what about your question? I believe personally that the government has a right to limit immigrants and to protect their borders. However, when people cross the border illegally they can find themselves in very difficult circumstances. Without food and water they may die. This is certainly not the will of the government or God.

So I would not have a problem in helping them with food and water. This I personally believe would be a Christian response. However, I would not help them illegally enter the country nor would I help them hide from the law.

That is my own personal opinion as a Christian.

Man's Law received it's origin from God and His written Laws unto Moses. Paul wrote and said that we are to strive for peace and respect those who have authority over us especially the Government..Yet when those Laws goes against the written Word of God, Paul also wrote it is better to obey God than Man..The mark of the Antichrist is now here, go to trumpetmin.org and click could this be the mark? And know that by law this device will be issued to all in order to buy or sell..Those who receive it according to Scripture, will be put into the Lake of fire. and those who don't receive it shall be jailed and given the choice, Now what will you do?? Obey God or the Law of Man (Antichrist).

who says mans laws are wrong? would you like it if anyone stronger, faster could have their way with you simply because they can? is the law not to kill wrong? is it wrong to require people to get a license before driving?> NO. these are not wrong laws, and the laws of man always supersede the laws of "GODS" simply because this is the world of man.
As for should you help someone trying to cross a desert by giving them food/water, well yes, but there is no law against helping others, just cause you kept them alive doesnt mean they cant just be shipped back to the border afterward.

mans laws are based on religion as to what is right and wrong. fair and unfair. if the people making the laws are above them, why should everyone else abide by them? it becomes a dictatorship. that is what we have now, the people who are profiting by the laws want them enforced for the people who are making them rich. as the system continues to break down, you will see more George Bush's taking away citizens rights. to maintain their status quo.

Only if man's laws are oppossed to God's laws are we to break them.

I don't know of any law which prohibits you from from going to the desert and giving people water, food and shelter. God wants us to give to our neighbor.

Who is trying to prevent YOU from doing this?

No, they are breaking the laws of the land, and so would we if we were to help them. We are told to follow the laws of the land. And where did you get the thought that "man's" laws are wrong?

I believe so, if it's a law that is against God's Word in the Bible. The Bible never says to uphold the laws of the land, if the laws of the land cause you to break the laws of God, as in, the book of Acts where the apostles were told to stop preaching the Gospel. They continued to preach anyway and disobeyed the laws of man.

yes, but one must be prepared to accept the consequences, and the retribution of authorities (not necessarily unwarranted - abortion clinic bombers and other terrorists believe they ate correct by breaking the laws).

If one violates a law based on principle, one must be willing to endure punishment on that same principle.

Jesus said to love your neighbor as yourself. Your neighbor is anyone. Also Jesus said to render unto Cesar what is Cesar's. So in meaning Jesus was saying to obey man's law as well.

Matthew 25:41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.' 44 "They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?' 45 "He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
