Here go to this website, it has a list of foods dogs cannot eat. I just got a puppy and this really helps for young and old dogs. Also make sure your new puppy does not chew on things he can choke on.

After 12 weeks they are lactose intolerant, so no dairy.
Rosemary, sage, turmeric, tomato leaves (nightshade), irises, lilies, cooked chicken & turkey bones (raw turkey necks are ok), mustard, garlic, onions, ginger, poplar & box wood trees, corn meal or corn by products, uncooked green bean & snow peas.
They can eat carrots, potatoes, peas, white rice, and unseasonded meats. In the wild dogs eat roots they can dig up and all meats. They do not eat corn. They can't digest it, same with most grains.
Avoid most herbs or potent flowers. They can cause stomach and even nurological problems in some cases.
Good Luck.

Onions, Chocolate, Grapes, most tough fruit skins or peels, chicken (or any bird) bones, pork bones, pig or beef hooves (yes I know they sell them at the pet store, but they are just as bad as pork bones), milk, excessive amounts of sugar, alcohol, and while they are a puppy, avoid spicy or heavily greasy foods.
Some will tell you not to feed your dog anything but dog food, but if you are careful, a dog can enjoy people food and dog food, but with my puppies I tend to give them veggies and lean meats until they get older, then I gradually get them used to greasier foods (but always in moderation) and spicy things.

NO PEOPLE FOOD OF ANY KIND!!!!!!!!!!!! Puppy food is puppy food. The pup needs its own kind of food as they have different needs from humans. NO BONES.
NO dogs should ever have ice cream, candy or chocolate. These cause cancer in dogs. Been there, done that.
Stay with puppy food, dry, and your pup will live a happy life.

Chocolate, Raisins, Grapes, Garlic, Onions, and Salty foods I believe. Also, never give a dog thin bones like chicken bones. They can snap easily.

Dogs can't eat onions, grapes, raisins, or chocolate. These things will make them sick. I dont think they could eat any acidy foods either but im not sure. You shouldnt feed your dog too much human food because they will get fat. Trust me this happened to my dog we had to put him on diet food after he got to fat. it is alright to give them little pieces of fruit but nothing to much.

Stick to premium dog food, greenies, dog biscuits (peanut butter favored prefered by 9 out of 10 dogs). No raw hides, pigs ears, anything with red dye and you can't go wrong.

He should only be given a high quality puppy food. He shouldn't have people food really. Boiled chicken, rice, veggies are ok, but in limits.

Never let them get: chicken and pork bones, chocolate, onions and peppers, and alcoholic anything. And cow's milk should be avoided, too.
