One of our cats is suffering from Chronic Renal Failure due to the tainted Iams cat food made by Menu Foods. Iams has agreed their food was the cause and they have offered to pay our vet bills (nearly $4,000 so far) and for four months of medical monitoring. Four months is a joke -- our cat is going to need expensive treatment for the rest of his life, not just the next four months.
Just curious to know if anyone has had any luck with negotiating a better settlement with Iams. Did they increase the length of the medical monitoring window? Did they reimburse you for related costs (missing work, canceled travel plans, etc.)? Or did they just give you the brush off and tell you their offer would not change?
Just wondering what to expect when I call them to make a counter offer.
