In Adobe photoshop - is there an easy way to take a color photo and wash it out but still keep it colored.?

I want to use a photo as a pale colored backdrop.

Go to item/modify/color saturation and drag the saturation slider to the left.

Just set the transparency/opacity to 30% to 70% and thats it
