PhotoRescue is excellent.

You can download a trial version to see if it works. It should display thumbnails of all of the pictures that it finds on the card.

You can purchase it for about £20 and you get an email link t download it within 72 hours.

I have retrieved photos from both formatted and corrupted cards.

It will allow you to reformat the card again to remove the corruption.

It's just one of those programs you should not be without...

If your camera is a Mass Storage Device, you could try GetDataBack FAT32 version and use it like a disk drive, saving anything to your regular hard disk.

But to be honest, PhotoRescue is ace...

Have you tried sticking the memory card into your computer to see if it recognizes it and allows you to access the card? If one file is corrupted others may not be so you may be able to get some of the images. I would try sticking it into my machine and see what happens first before attempting to see if another company can repair the memory card.

Hope that helps.

As someone has suggested, connect up to your computer to see if there is anything recoverable. Or did you do this in the first place and that is why you found it necessary to go to Jessops. What I can't understand is Jessops are reputable photographic people, so if they told you about some software they should have given you the name. I would ring them up and ask them.

It is posble to recover apparently damaged files, but you need to know what you are doing.
Clearly the jessop bloke is not going to help you with this.

Have you got a friend who knows it's way around PCs?
Did you a scandisk against this disk?
Do you get errors? Have you got something we can work on?

Take a look at this page. It might give you some pointers and it has links to software. I don't know about costs - I didn't look into it that far.

Try this. It's free to try. You could attempt to recover your data and then uninstall the program.
