The package has never been open and the expiration date is April 28, 2007. It's been stashed behind some stuff in the refrigerator that whole time.

In the fridge, they will be fine. They are packaged and the expiration date based on them not being refrigerated at all. Pepperoni is very well preserved by the spices as well. If it looks good (no mold or slime) and smells good it is good.

Hmmmmmmmm, that's almost 4 MONTHS past expiration....I wouldn't risk it, even though pepperoni is so loaded with sodium (salt) and nitrates (preservatives) I just wouldn't risk it.....4 months is over a quarter of a year.........next time you use the pepperoni, throw it in the freezer for longer lifespan......I do it all the time with it........But if it's never been opened, you might want to do the "sniff" and "nibble" test on it, just to be sure, who knows, it still might be salvageable.....and save you a trip to the store.....Enjoy!!

I always follow this advice - "if in doubt, throw it out" - it's not worth risking your health just to save a bit of money. This type of meat can be very deceptive, can carry all sorts of deadly bacteria. Just throw it out.

no it's not safe because germs and bacteria love un-cooked meat, and you could get food poisoning, samonella and a whole lot a other nasty stuff. my friend ended up being in a hospital for almost a week because he ate expired sausage from his fridge. throw it out.

Dont ues a package of expired pepporonie. Just because it is sealed does not mean that it is fresh.

smell it..if it smells good and tastes good its okay to use. there are so many preservatives in food like that they last sometimes months after its expiration date. just be sure to smell/test it out first..hope this helped//
