Nothing, swamps have been devoid of life for millenia. The ice age saved the earth by freezing all the water in the swamps until the plates could shift far enough for the climates to be better and have fewer, lifeless swamps.

Certain birds. Lots of amphibians. Lots of plants. Lots and lots of insects. There are also specialized predators, such as crocodiles, etc.

I have also heard of swamp witches and swamp hags.

Swamps are very rich in life .
large insect and huge micro biotic life.
Fauna of many kinds.
crocodiles,snakes ,lizards,frogs,toads,pigs,
a lot of wader birds.
Many ,many fish
a huge amount of Flora ,mangroves,reeds,water plants,
there is no end to it
