The other day my kitten some how slipped out the door she was outside all night. when my mom realized she had gotten outside she was brought in and bathed. but now she's no longer the little playful kitten she was before she got outside. all she wants to do is sleep. What happened to my playful kitten?

Very likely she was caught by a tom cat and mated.

At 5 months old she is old enough to get pregnant, which is why we tend to spay from this age.

Please phone a vet and book her in to be spayed within the next couple of weeks - this is early enough even if she is pregnant. Please do NOT think of keeping the cute little kittens - yes they're cute, they're also a lot of work and expensive and will be taking up homes needed by unwanted kittens that are already in the world.

I really think your cat's been mated, they often do change their behaviour like this - cat mating is a pretty stressful process, and painful, she'll be in shock.

Your kitten probably was running around all night and got tired because she had no food or water. My kitten did that once. Also, she is a growing kitten. She is becoming an adult. Adult cats are not as playful. They like to sleep a lot. Don't worry though, your kitten still loves you. Make sure you give her lots of attention, and be careful so she doesn't get out again! Get her a collar, if you haven't already, and put your number and address on it along with her name. Just in case she gets lost. Good Luck!

I don't know but it's time for her to get spayed so do that right away so you don't end up with kittens.
