Take an aspirin or some other NSAID, and be sure to stretch and warm up well before you try out. If you have a dynamite tryout, but you pull a muscle big-time, you still won't make the team.

I would recommend some advil about an hour before you go to tryouts. That or some other anti-inflammatory. I used to take about 800 miligrams before football games for shin-splints and that usually did the trick. I would ice right before tryouts either, because it could lead to stiffness.

Take a hot bath with some epsome salt.
It relaxes your muscles.
But you also need to stretch them,
so they'll heal faster.

the best thing to do when you are sore is to excersize and stretch as much as u possibly can. i thought it was weird when i first heard that. just stretch your legs out real good. and then try to roll your shoulders areound as much as you can. try to ask someone if they can rub ur shoulders.
