Remove the casings if it's going into spaghetti sauce or used like that. You can cook it super fast without the casings. If you want them to look like sausages, cook with the casings. The best way to cook it is to lightly brown, then add water to a depth of about 1/2 inch and simmer covered for 10-15- check there's no pink. Doesn't get burned and they look perfect.

You are supposed to leave it on. This is one of the reasons i don't eat sausage. The outside "clear wrapping" is what holds it all together. The few times i have tried eating it i have lost my appetite quickly, i try to take a bite and my teeth don't cut into the "Clear wrapping" and it's like rubber. GROSS me out!
Yes, you are supposed to leave it on if you want your sausage to look perfect like your friends.

May I safely assume that this is a trick question. If you are serious, then please leave the casing on as this is what makes it a sausage, and fry gently in a mix of oil and water to get a really nice flavoured sausage.

If you don't leave it one you end up with the mess that you have. The casing holds the sausage together.

Leave the casing on, as that keeps them together. To get a good sausage that isn't burnt or doesn't split use gentle heat.

The casing is meant to be left on, but I prick mine a bit to make sure they don't burst open. But you can take the meat out and make patties if you want. But I would just go and buy sausage meat for that.
