Look under when some one turns to full lock you will notice a steering stop on the strut knuckle that hits the lower control arm a little grease there helps. And Klunk is normal out at the end of steering grease will soften the noise. So what is it a 1993 or a 2000 and how many miles? Popping sound under acceleration in turns is the typical CV joint noise.

C V joints worn will give a loud clicking noise on full lock----power steering rack worn will also give a noise on lock and can also cause the road wheel to bump against the stop

The noise your hearing is probably a CV Joint which is worn,or it could be that the rubber boot that covers it is torn and all the grease that lubricates it has been lost
