Does anyone really know what types of things you can do with it?
My sister is getting it for us to share, and I'm not really sure what it does.
Any tutorials or anything?
Thanks.

Photoshop is the best image editing program ever!! I love it,you can do so mcuh with it,from adjusting the brightness, contrast, crop to professional high quality special effectsapplied ti pictures and many many more.It hs lots and lots of options and features, its simply great. But it takes time to learn how to use though.I suggest you buy a book for beginners to learn the basics and then learn on your own or you could just get tutorials over the Internet, just type "photoshop tutorials" in google and you'll find loads. There's nothing that Photoshop can't do!
For example,you can rezsize pictures,crop them,adjust their brightness,contrast,levels,hue,replace colours,use brushes,apply effects,save as another format,modify the backgound,make posters etc.
If you want to learn, usethis site http://pslover.com/.It has a lot of tutorials with easy-to-follow steps.Or www.planetphotoshop.com.It has detailed videos with explanations.Photoshop can be a little difficult at the beginning, but it's very fun and useful! You have unlimited options to do whatever you like with your photos, play with your imagination!
Good luck!
Hope this helps.

There are many, many things you can do with Photoshop. If it's Photoshop CS3, it gives you a whole new range of tools to use for photography enhancement, designs, etc. However, it's a little difficult to use and you most likely will need to read up on some sites about tips and tricks to CS3. Once you learn, it'll be enjoyable. Good luck. There are many tutorials out there to use.

Oh yeah, if you have money to spare, some magazines specific for Adobe is a good buy. They teach you many tricks you may find useful. You can find these at any bookseller such as Waldenbooks, Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc. Again, good luck.

Photoshop can be used for all types of specific image editing. I could make it so it looked like a dog was fighting a shark if I was skilled enough. You can also draw in it. Go to Youtube and type "photoshop tutorials". I also recommend www.planetphotoshop.com

Good luck.

I'm assuming your refering to Adobe Photoshop.
It's just about the best program out there for photos.
I have had a little experience with it, but its very complex. You can do just about anything you want pertaining to photos with it, from small editings to major overhauls and completely new ones altogether.
Its awsome!

Photoshop can do anything you want it to do, image-wise. Personally, I use it for digital painting and airbrushing. There are many tutorials on deviantart.com and scattered about the web. Other people use it for photo enhancement or manipulation. All depends on what you want and what you hope to acheive.

There are a lot of sites that cover it. One of my favorites is http://www.graphic-design.com/news/index.html

There is also a book in the Dummies Series that has good easy-to-follow explanations of what to do and how to do it. The title is "PhotoShop for Dummies" and you can get it at a local book store or on Amazon.com
