I would say purgatory is the most because it is
saying that Jesus Christ couldn't pay for all their
sins at Calvary.
What other false teachings would you say are
most blasphemous in the Catholic church?

well said, purgatory basically says Christ didn't finish the work, that we have to do something for complete forgiveness, redemption and justification. Along with that, I would throw in indulgences, which fleeced poor people on the false idea of purgatory, so they could build the Vatican. More? okay,
The Papacy
The priesthood
transubstantiation
the sacraments
determining who are saints and who isn't.
the veneration of Mary and "saints".
the rosary
Considering tradition and church authorities on an equal level with the Scriptures.

It was the Catholics who invented the concept of blasphemy and they pretty much have defined all of them. Were you aware that Purgatory was "created" to pay for the construction of St. Peter's Basilica through the sale of indulgences? The idea was that those who weren't worthy of being saved by Jesus' sacrifice could suffer enough in Purgatory to become worthy of redemption. (Not that Christ's sacrifice was insufficient, as you maintain.) The idea of selling indulgences, which guaranteed rich sinners could avoid Hell, so enraged Martin Luther, he was inspired to write his Ninety-Five Theses, which ignited the Protestant Reformation.

After the Enlightenment and the rise of elected governments, when the Pope no longer had the authority to create kings, the power of the Catholic church was greatly reduced and the common people were no longer forced to live under the tyranny of the ecclesiastical courts. It is now impossible for any citizen of a democratic country to be officially charged with blasphemy, because the Church no longer has such authority. Christian fundamentalists sometimes pretend that blasphemy is still a crime. It's not, and these days bigots who are too ignorant to value democracy sometimes abuse the term to insult those who hold opinions they disagree with. Proclaiming that Catholic doctrine is blasphemous is as senseless as declaring the Holocaust was a Jewish conspiracy. Personally, I think the word blasphemy is so intimately connected with the horrors of the Catholic Inquisitions that it's too emotionally loaded to be used the way you intend. There's plenty wrong with Catholic doctrine, but I can't bring myself to call it blasphemy.

So many blasphemies and so little time.
I agree about indulgences, purgatory, and the comment about hell has some ground.

I'll take Mary-worship for $300! First that she was immaculately concieved, second that she had no other children besides Jesus, and third that she ascended bodily into heaven. Let's just moosh it all together as one big blasphemy in itself--oh, did I forget about those Mary sightings?
Isn't it funny that no Muslims ever see the Virgin Mary in their wheat gluten jars? Or Buddhists?
And why is Mary always running around jumping out of bushes at people anyway? Shouldn't she be up in heaven with her Lord and Savior?
Really, she must blush every time, right? I feel sorry for her.
"Look Lord, it's them, not me, okay? I was sitting right over there! Nowhere NEAR Fatima!"

Look, I am NOT a Catholic but, I love them! You are suppose to love them too!

Don't we have enough hatred in this world? Why create more between we you all believe in the same God?

It is between God and man as to how they worship him.

I think it is for God to judge and not for man! Every religion is manmade! Christianity, is GOD MADE!

Can we all play nice and love one another? That's what Jesus asked us to do....and if you see them as enemies...same thing!

I would say that judging other denominations to be "blasphemous" because they don't interpret the Bible precisely the same way that you do is arguably much, much worse. It's also the reason why there's SO many denominations within Protestantism now--they're all convinced of themselves as being the only "correct" way.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, as it's said.

Actually God did pay for everyone's sins, it's up to us to take part in his payments. He freed us from sin, but we have to prove that we love him by using our will to take part in the freedom he won us from the slavery of sin.

And by the way paying for monks to pray for your loved one is not a doctrine of the church, it was a misled practice of certain communities of catholic religious in the Middle Ages. The Catholic church is a human institution, of course the humans in it will make some mistakes.

Superstition is stupid, as is a belief in supernatural deities. Catholics are among the worst, but I blame this on the fact that they've been around the longest.

Protestants are just Catholic 2.0 anyway. Any denomination has Catholicism to thank for its existence. Sure, people see *their* version as an improved Christianity, but it wouldn't be anywhere without Catholicism.

The trinity distorts who God really is. Instead of Jehovah being the Most High, Jesus and the holy spirit are elevated to the same level as God.

The hellfire doctrine is also blasphemous. Would a loving God torment humans forever in a fiery hell?

I'd have to say the Infallability of the Pope would have to be the worst, since it is taking a mortal man and basically saying he doesn't make mistakes, everything he does is directly from God... Whereas real Christians know that the only Sinless One was our Lord... Hence the problem.

That you can pay money to the church and have your loved one get out of purgatory and into heaven instead.
