I'm so glad that we live in the future where people pray to an invisible god to solve their problems for them.

The world doesn't change because ppl are still sinners at heart. Not to mention that people might not even be praying to the One and only God who can answer their prayers, the One who offers grace and salvation thru His son, Jesus Christ.
God answers prayers according to His perfect will for our lives, and not necessarily our wants.
Prayer is very powerful. If you have a relationship with Jesus, then you can feel the effects of prayer and spending time in His word in your personal life. Keep the faith!

ok a little from another perspective:
Ofcourse God is way more powerful than satan, but satan doesn't like it when people pray to God. I'm not saying that God doesn't answer prayer because he does but what i'm saying is international day of prayer might as well be called international day of spiritual warfare because Satan is raging mad, and will do anything to discourage prayer etc.
I think God does answer the prayers of the people on international prayer day.

Ask yourself who started or created international day of prayer,I know God didn't.If he did it would be a peaceful day.
The power of prayer is great when you have faith and I didn't think anything can change God's plans for the future of the world.

Are the people praying acting any differently on an international day of prayer than all the other days of the year?

Puppy,
The Power of Prayer is unbelievable. Our GOD and FATHER answers the prayers of HIS CHILDREN. The day of prayer is a day for many to get together and pray even if they have not done so individually and that is nice but GOD certainly has answered a number of our prayers over the years. I have no idea why you are worried about that day as so many are on my list. HIS CHILDREN pray for many things and HE has promised to listen to those prayers. The answers are NOT always "YES". They may be "NO" or "LATER". HIS' WILL be done! I would be glad to assist you in finding a study group if you are ready to find HIS TRUTH. Just let me know. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

It took thousands of years to create such havoc, what makes you think that it can be erased in just one day of prayer.
We’ve burned down millions of forests acres, polluted the very air and water that we breathe and drink, killed billions over the centuries for one religion to prevail over another.
We’ve created chemicals that can exterminate entire populations, engineered viruses in preparation of a biological warfare.
We’ve harnessed the nuclear power, electromagnetism, gravity and now weather conditions much to our own destruction.
All of our “achievements” are products of the mind and heart that God has given us along with his blessings for joyous and complete life.
We took a perfect, peaceful planet and transformed it into a living hell but having done that and since we don’t like it much anymore we expect God to ride on his white and shinning armour to save from our own stupidity, arrogance and ignorance just because we pray…
Well… I’m pretty sure God expects us to do more that pray while this world is torn apart in pieces.
He expects to think and feel and act accordingly.
If we pray for peace we should better become peaceful within our very existence.
If we pray for love better start loving.
That is what God expect us to do first before asking his assistance.
And YES GOD cares… do we?

Maybe not everyone is praying for peace. Besides, not everyone is praying. And God answers prayers according to his will. If you pray that a church burns down, he probably won't answer you, but if you pray for your sister's salvation, it's more likely to be in his will. Jesus said that he did not come to establish peace, but to turn daughter against mother and mother against daughter. God can do anything, but he chooses to wait until we ask him to. But he knows what's best and will only answer the prayer that is according to his will.
