I think we should. And not only add Critical Thinking as a separate subject, but incorporate the logical reasoning techniques into the other subjects. To foment in the children a healthy rational spirit to question and not just absorb every single piece of information. We should teach them to be more concerned with questions like:
what do you mean by? how did you come to that conclusion? what is the source of your information?,etc.
I think it could be a way to fight the credulity crisis that's affecting the world nowadays. What do you think?

I was actually asked those things alot by some of the better teachers i have had in my past. Some teacher today are in it for the money (*snickers* what money) but others are in it to actually teach and those are the ones that seem to loose their jobs the most.

Teachers are already supposed to be teaching critical thinking skills. When I went through teacher training many years ago this was strongly emphasized.

I concur. This is not to try and make more atheists (I'm religious), but seriously kids are conditioned to believe what the adults tell them. We were never allowed to question the teacher in elementary school!

Absolutely. Today, kids are told what to think, not taught how to think. This would certainly put a damper on the evolution propaganda, wouldn't it?

I agree just as long as the Fairy Tale of Evolution doesn't receive any special protection from such scrutiny as it does now.
