I am also a scientist. I work in a lab and have nothing to do with the study of global warming or the verification of Al Gore's projections. I do know this. We as a global people are polluting this planet. The rate is becoming more and more alarming. What do you say to stopping hazardous emission just for the fvcking hell of it.

Everybody is entitled to their opinions.

The doctrine of Global Warming is the new third rail of politics.

Oppose it, and you are branded a right wing kook

Favor it, and you are a commie loving liberal hippie.

By definition, science should be where two or more parties can look at the same set of data and come to the same conclusion.

This is not the case with GW. Is it occurring? Opinions from both sides of the aisle differ? If it is occurring, how much of it is man-made? Again, two sets of opinions.

Can it be stopped? Not without the aide of China and India, the two leading contributors to greenhouse gases.

What does it mean? Nothing - if it is caused by natural cycles of the sun. There is, after all, evidence of polar caps melting on Mars.

I'm a real (environmental) scientist and gave my answer (the very last one). Most of the answers were the usual global warming denier ridiculousness, talking about Al Gore instead of the science behind global warming.
