Should've thought about your son's allergies long before you got the puppy...
Take it back to the breeder-any responsible breeder would take the puppy back.

Bassetnut is right. If you got the dog from a shelter or a good breeder you should save yourself the stress of trying to find a good home for this dog when there are people who will happily do so for you. I highly doubt bassetnut was trying to be rude or condensending. Most shelters and many breeders require that if for any reason the dog doesn't work out it be returned to them alone. That way they can call up another family they've already researched and approved to take the pup so there's no down time in the pups new life.

This is one of those situations when I just want to say "Now.. don't you wish you'd bought your dog from a responsible breeder?" Any responsible breeder I know of would happily refund your money and take the puppy back.
Good luck finding the puppy a good home... in the meantime give the pup a bath to decrease your son's allergic reaction. I'm allergic to dogs myself.

I am sorry that you can't keep the puppy. You got the puppy from a bad breeder if they refuse to take the puppy back. Any good breeder would require that you bring the puppy back to them if you aren't able to keep it. Try to find a good animal rescue organization that can help you out. Don't take the puppy to an animal shelter, but a no kill rescue organization.

You'd get rid of the puppy a lot faster if you advertised it for free and didn't try to make money out of it!
Place ads in newspapers, at vets and in shop windows if they let you. You'll need to vet potential homes yourself to make sure they're decent, or you could find a shelter that will do it for you - a puppy will find a new home within about a week, they always have waiting lists of people looking for puppies.

take it back to the breeder. any reputable breeder would take it back. if your son has such a terrible allergic reaction i really wouldnt be looking to make money off the deal by free advertising for a "for sale" pup. for free advertising try your local supermarket, laundromat or convinience store or simply ask at some local old folks homes, halfwayhouses, orphanges, childrens homes and donate the pup there. maybe they could give it a good home, your son could get away from the allergy and children, elderly or needy people could be helped by this little pup.

They do have a shot that you could give your son. That would make him tolerate it. It is not the dog he is allergic to it is the dander. Maybe you should have thought about that before you got a puppy. Now an innocent puppy is out of a home because of irresponsible people like yourself.

How about www.craigslist.org? Or how about Allerpet? It's a liquid you put on the animal's fur to take away the dander that most people are allergic to. You can buy it online. I use it with my cats that I'm allergic to & it works great! No more sneezing. I put it on about once or twice a week & a bottle lasts about three months.
