Because there is only one God, and he is the one whose name Satan is out to smear.

The first question that you need to ask is "do followers of other religions take the name of their god(s) in vain?" The answer is very unsurprisingly, yes they do. You could ask, if other religions take their god's name's in in vain, do they feel this as a temptation and/or a bad thing? And again the the answer would be yes in many cases.
Now the real question is why would there be a temptation to do something that is only wrong in the "true" religion? I.e. why would a believer in a false god be tempted to swear by their false god if it's not wrong?
The answer is fairly simple, there are no gods or tempters.

I've heard it said that Christians in Arabic speaking countries don't call God "God", they call Him "Allah".
God and Allah are the same. It's just a name. And all religions say that God can't be encapsulated by one name.

I guess if they use Jesus name as a cuss word which I hear people do all the time. Like a smashed finger they shout "well, Jesus Christ" That would definitely be in vain.
For a Christian to use the word Allah when they don't speak arabic seems like asking why don't you use the word.
Adious for good by? bonjour for good day.
We don't speak that language.
We don't worship their religion or the Buddhist God for that matter.

Now aren't you assuming a lot ? And since when is the name "God "specified for one set of people only?
God is one , my dear...........believe it or not.
Because "God" is an english word doesn't mean that the muslims and hindus cannot use it.
Foreign idol........i assume this is for the hindus. Hindus don't worship idols!
May i remind you that in the Bible....God said " i make you in the image of myself".

Radical Islamics will take action against such offensive use of *****
Christ taught Love. The Bible says "God is Love". So people wrongly expect easy forgiveness.
The Bible also says "Blaspheming against the Holy Spirit is UNFORGIVABLE!!!"

Have you asked this question to Buddhists, or Muslims? How do you know they don't use Allah or Buddha or Ra the Sun God's name in vain? In ancient Greece, did they say "Zeus damn you!"? Maybe. Do some research before you make assumptions in what I can only imagine is a pathetic attempt to prove your religion is the right one.

That's because you live in a Christian society. If you go visit Arabia, India, China, etc. you will hear people cursing in the names of their god(s).
