It depends on the specifics: Size, compression ratio, etc. But according to the article in the link, diesel. However, diesel is not as pretinent. It is a tad cheaper in some places. Check link from actual owner...I would get the VW...Ford literally means fixed or repaired daily...

THe diesel as far as last longer is truly the engine of choice, you only have to look at the semi truck some of those engines get far more years of use then gas,but all engines are only as good as their owner and keeping up on maintenance.Diesel fuel used to be cheaper then gas ,notice I said used to be,but to me they still are well worth the money. They do require a bit more effort in cold weather though,Iuse to own a pick up truck that was diesel and mainly just plugged the engine in at night to help keep it warm this helps it start easier, and pretty much from what I have seen all is needed is an extention cord, unless you have a garage then its not that important, and they already have the engine set up for the heating element, just plug in,and go.

It relies upon on what you would be utilizing. traditionally, once you would be hauling stuff, particularly heavier trailers, diesel is the thank you to bypass. or perhaps for properly-known vehicles, the mileage is larger. the only downside of diesel to properly-known petrol is right here interior the U. S. a minimum of, diesel has strengthen into greater high priced than petrol interior the previous 2 or 3 years, so the money you price in gasoline evens out. properly-known petrol automobiles tend to run quieter and are not getting the 'black acceleration smoke' as some diesels do. additionally, they have greater 'upward thrust up and bypass' to them.

Diesel engines' blocks are usually made harder and bigger in comparison to petrol engines. Also diesel make more power than petrol fuel and the efficiency is higher also. It produces less CO.
The problem with them is that they are bigger in size and heavier, they are more noisy, the maintenance of the fuel line is more expensive,...

Go for the diesel - it's more efficient, cheaper to maintain, and the engine is quite tough.
