I just want to know who here knows his/her roots,

as for me, according to my family tree which is authenticated by the internal ministry of Saudi Arabia, that i am a descendent of Ishmael the son of Abraham (peace be upon them both)..

What about you... Do you know your roots...?

I ask to know if people still care about their roots and history...

This is my family tree, it is in Arabic, but the name at the most bottom in the tree reads "From the son of Ishmael son of Abraham".. http://www.almozaini.com/shagrh.jpg

Salaaaaam Khalid,

That's great BUT,

I thought being real muslim, one of the core teaching no matter how good/bad our ancestors are, have nothing to with who we are. We have to make our own "path" of life , and that is what's counted.

You have a family tree to that far back? Not that I doubt it but I cant imagine how many pages it would take.

The only thing I know about my roots is this - 1/2 of my family are drunk native american indians and the other 1/2 are angry white supremists. [Go figure] I don't need to know anything more than that. They are a complete mess.

I can trace my ancestry to Lady Godiva and *possibly* Alexander the Great....that one is a little trickier to prove.

yes i care about my roots, but i have only gotten as far as my great-great-grandparents. they are from italy (dad) and hungary (mom).

i don't care for any profound reason. i just think it would be interesting to know who i was related to in 5000 BC.

I don't.
I've never really felt a connection with my ancestors.
They're strangers to me.
I don't see any importance in who they were.
I am who I am, regardless of who I come from.
