ok,im having a hard time getting SSI they are denying me and i have doctor notices that i cant work (i wish i could but because of mental illness)i have had this my whole life and its getting worse,im also having my brain check for possible tumors.i have no money at all im living off my mom all i need is money to pay her,its hard to explain.can i get on welfare i didnt want to go this far but im lost i dont know what to do i need some advice,please thank you.im 21 also my at home bizness failed so im really SOL now.

also i lost my medical insurance and i take meds that if i stop i can die.thanks

i dont have kids and im not marries.thanks

actully its not the paxil im worried about stopping im on other meds

First to Michelle SSDBI (Social Security Disability Benefit Insurance)is NOT welfare its for workers who have worked long enough to EARN 40 quarters and have medical reasons that prevent them from working. SSI and AFDC are tax paid benefits, SSI you do not earn it but need medical reasons to get it and not have income or have low income. AFDC is Aid for Dependent Children, this is WELFARE, its for women who have children who do not know who the father is or has problems getting child support, when the state finds the father the state can garnish his wages and the IRS can garnish his Income tax check.If you have not , hire a lawyer to get SSI, it is getting a lot harder to benefits due to fraud. The food stamp program is place you could apply for for food stamps, if approved you will get a card like a ATM card that you can use to buy food at you local grocery store. Good luck.

I can relate with your situation. It can take 18 months or so to get through the Social Security maze, and there's no guarantee if or when the checks will start coming.

Yes, in answer to your question, there are public health benefits available to people of little or no income or resources. Contact your local Social / Human Services office. There is one in every county.
Programs exist for:
Food
Medical Care and Medications
Specific programs to needy disabled people
TANF Temporary Aid to Needy Families -( 60 month lifetime benefit)

(Note: AFDC was replaced a number of years ago by TANF)

I'm going to send your question over to my wife who has experience with the subject. From me though, I just want to warn you. I have taken paxil and zoloft for years. The one thing I do not recommend is going cold turkey if you run out. Taper off slowly. IE decrease the dose about 1/4 per week. At least for me, cold turkey induces severe mood swings all the way from suicidal to homicidal and back again, so don't get yourself in that bind. I have watched both your questions and answers with interest and wish you the best.

"Welfare" is, essentially, SSI/SSDI and/or TANF ($ for needy families). SSDI is for disabled folks who have worked in the past. SSI is for those who have not. Bottom line, though, is that both are government programs that dispense cash (and often medical benefits) to people with disabilities (i.e., welfare).

You are not going to die if you stop taking Paxil. Anyway, why don't you start doing some odd jobs? Mow lawns, rake yards, whatever. It's not a big deal.

Like Gina, i'm Filipino and that i probable have Spanish blood in me and that i'm a million/8 chinese language, yet i individually evaluate myself all Filipino because of the fact i do no longer understand any chinese language kin (my great-grandpa is finished chinese language and he went to the Philippines and married my great-grandma, subsequently my grandpa is a million/2 chinese language, yet he became no longer uncovered to chinese language way of existence). i'm only extremely related to Filipino way of existence.
