1. Memorize every term associated with life insurance, so when you get asked a question, you have a direct and exact responce.

2. Know what you are offering, without knowing your product in and out... your setting yourself for a downfall.

3. Don't offer a product to someone who does not need it... if you can not find a good reason (benefit) for someone having your product... don't sell it to them, this will end up coming back to you in the end and hurting your "Word Of Mouth" clients.

4. Report, Report, Report (Build report with your clients and potential customers) - be sure to remember names, and other personal information they digg out to you! If you forget a name, you lost a customer

Referrals. Pounding the pavement in the evenings & weekends of "target neighborhoods". Cold calls don't work. Well, NONE of it works great, IMO, that's why most life sales guys wash out the first year. It's a really hard way to make a living.
