I had veal cutlets, and I can't figure out why it doesn't taste like beef.

I know veal is milk fed but still doesn't explain why it doesn't taste like beef. Cause it is a calf, cow, moo, beef. I guess a little chick won't taste like chicken either. Nonetheless this is interesting.

I guess this is like one of those "how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop" questions. The milk feeding and confinement is to keep the meat from being tough, not to keep it from tasting like beef. And i'm almost certain that the milk is broken down into components just as it would in anything else and you cannot make muscle from milk but from protein. It is just strange how it doesn't even remotely taste like beef.

Other than mother of a child can feed milk. Mother's feeding is told as much good to a child's health since long ago and even now the science has also agreed the importance of mother's milk. In this situation, the only animal gives a nourished milk to public without any expectation is COW - then how it cannot be treated as sacred? Besides Hinduism, mother is common for all irrespective of religion. In gostuthi, as per Hinduism,it has started as Salutations to the mother of the world, Who lives as a seed in all cows, Salutations to that goddess, Who is a great goddess, And who is the wish yielding cow. So the cow is a sacred one.

Veal is so delicate that it takes on the flavors that it is accompanied with very easily. A talented chef will pair it with seasonings that enhance and compliment its flavors rather then disguising and masking it with robust ingredients.

It's underdeveloped cow. And often milk-fed. And they don't have enough time to develop the muscles that a full grown cow has.

because they are very young cows and milk feed only
