Just another perfect example of why the government is NOT the right way to intervene in such situations. By paying people to take in foster kids, they encourage and support people that are doing it for the money not for love of the child! I remember hearing about a foster family that continued to consider their foster children part of the family...just because the government cut off the funds didn't mean that the child had to move out of the home and start paying rent...I've known foster kids whose foster parents paid for them to attend college out of their own pockets and the kids still came home for holidays long after they turned 18.
What can we do...those of us that are blessed with enough resources to support a child should CHOOSE to do so...not for the government check but because we love those children. I'm considering foster parenting (difficult because I'm a single mom) and if I'm blessed to be approved by that nasty government machine I know that I will NOT stop loving or caring for the child just because the government cuts off the financial support! Any child I take in to my home will be my child for as long as he or she needs me to be so (of course, I'm not saying I'll support a kid forever if he or she wants to be lazy and non-productive...but then I wouldn't support my own flesh and blood child in that either!).

Yeah, they've been fallin' apart lately. Aside from the things they mentioned in the article I believe Joe had a knee replacement as well during this tour...The joys of getting old and or senial...LOL!!!! I love Aersomith all songs and albums my most favorite songs are Seasons of Wither and for some reason I just love Pink I think it's the beat of the music that does it for me. Well I'm not lezzy so I can't say Liv, but I always thought Steven was sexy in his own way...he's just got style and class I love it!

Extend the age to 21. Being in the foster system, they usually have college/trade school expenses paid for, but many are not encouraged or even informed that it's available to them. Getting these kids truly ready to be independent is the key and career training is a must.

It's their own fault, and the system that houses them and doesnt educate them's fault that when they're released they have nowhere to go, no education, no job, nothing. Perhaps you could help out by helping in those category's.
