If you for one minute don't think this is true, check the source below!

A conversation between a Customer and Bank of America:

Bank:This is the Bank of America, can I help you?

Customer: Yes, I want to cancel my account. I don't want to do business with you any longer.

Bank: Why?

Customer: You're giving credit to illegal immigrants and don't think it's right. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Bank : Well, Mr. Customer, we don't want to see you do that, but we can't stop you. I'll help you close the account.

What is your account number?

Customer: (gives account number)

Bank: For security purposes and for your protection, can you please give me the last four digits of your Social Security number?

Customer: No.

Bank: Mr. Customer, I need to verify your information, but in order to help you, I'll need verification of who you are.

Customer: Why should I give you my social security number? The reason I'm closing my account is that your bank is issuing credit cards to illegal immigrants who don't have social security numbers. You are targeting that audience and want their business. Let's say I'm an illegal immigrant and you've given me a credit card. I have a question about it and call for assistance.

You wouldn't be asking me for a Social Security number, would you?

Bank: No sir, I wouldn't.

Customer: Why not?

Bank: Because you would have pressed '2' to speak in Spanish. We don't ask for that information when calling in on the Spanish line.

Why don't you tell me why the government hasn't done anything about this issue? They are just setting an example to the rest of the US companies and banks .........

It's like back in elementary when your teacher would tell you not to chew gum in class and they'd have a mouth full of gum. HYPOCRISY.

Did you also know that lenders are giving illegal alines loans for mortgages and things like that? How about dealerships? they do it also.

What's your point? everywhere you turn people will be willing to "help" them if it means getting a sort of "profit" from them. They're not doing it out of the kindness of thier hearts!

i used to work for BOA, and if they do not have a SSN, then they would open an account with a ITIN # rather than a SSN. Which can mean a legal immigrant. BOA does not ask about legal status. She cannot help him without him verifying his Identity, for his protection...and he obviously did not have an ITIN # listed on his accnt.

I doubt this is true, but I would redial and press two for Spanish and start over with closing the account to see what happens

I had ID fraud threw BOA+M an they don't or won't tell me how it happened. But if it's under $5000. dollars they won't go after them. They even caught the person non American and wouldn't prosecute him.So they let him go as it was his first time>>>>>
