I recently aquired it from the shelter and i think its because my a/c is too cold. The last couple of days i turned off my a/c and i noticed some improvments in my cat. It didn't sneeze as much.

He's got an upper respiratory infection. This can get serious for cats, take him to the vet to get antibiotics. It won't just pass if you wait, it will only get worse and she may die.

Yes, my daughter just purchased a kitten from the shelter and it also had yellow mucus coming from it's nose and she was sneezing and breathing through her mouth. Your cat will require a visit to the vet for medications to clear up this upper respiratory infection, which could become more serious if not treated, not to mention the poor cat's symptoms are not comfortable. If you purchased the cat within two weeks from the shelter, they have a vet on staff, but be careful as they may try and take your cat away from you and offer you another healthier one and I'm sure you are already attached to your new cat. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Upper respitory infections are VERY common in shelters. Since they have experience treating URI ask them the best way to treat it. Along with his kitty cold he may have already developed a bacterial infection so he will need antibiotics. Keep kitty seperate from other animals and clean his face an area everyday. For easy cleaning, you may want to put him someplace small like a bathroom.
Your shelter is NOT going to make you trade him out after two weeks, that's ridiculous because URI is perfectly treatable. However, since adoption policies vary from shelter to shelter you should find out if this will be treated at your expense or their expense. If you have to pay, don't get upset. Basic care of the many animals shelters get is expensive enough as it is and URI is highly contaigous.

Might be an upper respiratory infection. Those run though shelters. You can either find out from the shelter if the cat was on any medications for an URI or take the cat to the vet and have them check him out.

it can be a number of different things, but the best thing that you can do is if the shelter you got the cat from has a vet there, take it there otherwise find a good vet in your area that will have him tested for maybe a upper respitory infection.

hope this helps and good luck!!
