This is in the wrong section....there's a whole religion section.
But, hopefully, all Christians, real Christians anyway (lots of posers out there) agree that we're saved by faith through Christ, not of works, so no man can boast.
BTW, your add'l comment is a silly observation since not everyone answering here is Christian, or even claims to be! Trust me, it's much more than "love for one another" or merely *believing* that God exists. The *demons* believe that God exists, and tremble! That doesn't make them followers.

What Katrina R said!!!

Why do you miserable unbelievers not just give in? There is a whole life of joy and new Friends out there just waiting to be there for you, encourage you when you're down, forgive you when you screw up.

I use to be you, or a close second, maybe.
I wimped out though and gave up being the tough guy.
Now I'm just an ole wimpy Christian living my life trying help others experience this awesome joy I've found.
Man, what a boring life, having to get up everyday and Thank the God of heaven for another breath and hope someone crosses my path so I can help them.......YEP, this Christian stuff is sure not what it's cracked up to be.
Oh, I almost forgot.
Once you become a Christian, as miserable as you are now you may want to rethink the retirement program because there is a clause in the contract, you may have read it, it is a legal document called the Bible.
It says after you accept these terms (repent and be born again, believing on Jesus Christ as the Son of God) you'll have to live forever, yep, forever.
C-ya in heaven , I hope.

Actually hun, there is a unified answer. Most people agree, with different words of course, that Jesus is the Son of God, and that was proven when he died on the cross and rose again. Also, by him being the Son of God, he is love and the true way to the kingdom. Looking at the majority of answers, ive said nothing new. Stop bein so technical, and look at the facts

According to the Bible, there are some beliefs christians must believe in if they want to follow Him. Since the Father and Son are one and in agreement, these beliefs also are contained in the Old Testement. The following are the some of these tenents of faith:

1. That there is a God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit that currently resides in Heaven.
2. That God sent His only begotten Son to earth as a Savior for mankinds sins.
3. That Christ came to earth, died on the cross for our sins.
4. That the only way to eternal life is to believe in Jesus as our Savior.
5. To accept Christ as your Savior, to repent of your sins, and vow to become "a new creature in Christ". One must accept His Holy Spirit and start living for Christ as He governs your life.
6. That one day Christ will come back again and reign as our King.
7. That His people follow the 10 commandments and all the Laws that God and Christ gave us in the Holy Bible.

There are more, of course, too many to mention here. But I think those seven are the main tenents of faith that most christians follow.

***My apologies to the Singles and Dating crowd***

Certain tenets and beliefs are established, and in this case that particular world view is called Christianity. Anyone can call themselves a Christian and can completely misrepresent the Christian world view, to a greater or lesser extent.

What's to be done? Revoke their Christian card? File a cease and desist order? Tape their mouths shut. If someone wants to refer to themselves as Christian or, for that matter, a representative of any other belief system, what can be done to stop them.

If I laid claim nihilism, but I said I believed in an existence after this one, which obviously is a contradiction, no one could prevent me from corrupting or diluting that particular world view, so what do you suggest?

I would think that it would be that there is a god and the christ is the son of god who was brought to the earth to show us the way and eventually died to clear us of our sins so that all of gods children could go to heaven when it was there time!

well i am a christian and i dont really think that there is one fact that all christians agree on. christianity is just a religion and to be a 'christian' you dont have to believe anything. but there are somethings that the bible tells us are foundational and that we can not be truly saved without believing them. one of these facts is that god sent his perfect son jesus to die on the cross for our sins. if you dont believe that you cant be saved.

This belongs in Religion & Spirituality, not Singles & Dating...

...and probably the only one is that there is a higher power known as "God" (among other names)...I'm not xian, but I assume they all agree on at least that much of the mythology.

That Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of all mankind. He died on the cross to save us (humans) from the penalty of sins.

The God the Father, Son & Holy Ghost are one.

& if you will so accept Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior, He will redeem you from your sins & will renew & change you to become a different person, that you will be in peace with yourself... and with God. It doesn't mean that you won't sin again in your human life but you will have peace in your heart.
