1996 - 2003 Chevy Blazer/GMC Jimmy - My mom has owned 3 for her job and loved them! Lots of options, reliable, and always resold for a good price. Most parts are replacable with the Chevy/GMC S10 trucks also.
Toyota RAV4, Honda CRV, Ford Escape/Madza Tribute - All received good reviews from personal owners I know. Stay away from Jeep Grand/Cherokees, Dodge Durangos - poor mileage and parts tend to wear out quickly.

Are you buying new or used. Who do you what to put to work.
Ford makes the Escape and Mercury Mariner. I Owen a Mariner and love it. GM has a few a little more then you what to pay. If you know some one who works for GM ask them about In the drive way program. this gives you a discount. Ask the sales person about this program.
