Is THAT the best you can do?? Ha, Ha LOL.. Know I know why no one wants to become a God hating atheist...you give them PLENTY of reason to become a Christian....
Ha, ha lol...what an imbecile.
Keep up the good work...the more you let everyone see your brainless intolerant attitude the more people RUN to God.

I suppose if bread were made from corn, I probably would.
But that has nothing to do with my faith.
You are implying that a person's value should change with the progress of technology? If we use processed flour (or corn in your case) and a bread machine, the values system that governs our lives should have a bread machine as god? When we want to know about love, we go kneel before the bread machine? I don't get that.
What I do get is that if you didn't have faith in what you were saying, you would have been unable to formulate the above question. You had faith that the words you have written will be understood by those who read it. No matter how you slice it, that is a clear demonstration of faith, isn't it? So you have to begin to ask the question, just WHAT is FAITH? If you can't first answer that question, it's not wise to ask questions that challenge the faith of others. (Note: If you look at all the responses, you may be able to see that your faith was misplaced--most people who responded were confused by the question!)
Faith is knowing with certainty what when you swing your feet to the ground when you wake up in the morning, the ground will be solid and will hold your weight. If there was even a slim possibility that you would fall into an abyss when you stepped out of bed, you may be completely unable to make a dicision to get out of bed. So faith then, enables us to make choices with a reasonable level of certainty of a known outcome. This is true regardless of which God one worships. And furthermore, in the realm of religious thought and practice, "Worship" does not imply "faith". Faith may engender or cause worship. But not the other way around.

Faith does NOT define my beleif......... Faith and Belief are two seperate issues........ It might be just the opposite, but that does not fit either...... If you are talking about *faith* as in God/Jesus, this faith is a KNOWING not a belief in an earthly way....... I have *faith* that God/Jesus IS, but my belief falls under an understanding of the Holy Bible, which is the Word of God........... You may not like what I say, but , this is the way I see my faith and belief....... and you use the word value as if my faith and belief makes me valuable : I am valuable because I am human, a life, a soul and spirit, just as you........ and I am effective, I have raised 3 sons, and am now helping with 6 grandchildren..... I have been married 31 years.. MODERN ?? what is the meaning of this word ?? that walking into a court room and getting a divorce after 3 months marriage ?? having an abortion because I thought I had to have sex at the age of 13 ??? or maybe getting a body full of tattoos' that show off how enlightend I am ?? Effective ?? in and of what ?? I work 40 hours a week, spend my money on food and shelter, for my family..... I give to those who need........ I show respect to my elders, even tho many think of me as such....... I give my place in line to the handicapped, just to show respect of their needs...... I ask NOTHING of my government, my husband supported all his family by working 2 or 3 jobs when needed, and is NOT or did NOT drain the resources of America....... I do not know you, and you do not know me, but I suggest you learn just what the words, value, respect, selflessness, honor, faith, belief means......... for I see you have NO idea what it takes to be *effective* ........... God bless

I still sew quilts, have ground my own wheat to make bread and corn to make hoe cakes, made my own sausage etc....
In fact a lot of stuff I make I sell to people who want these things but don't want to bother with taking the time or learning how to do it. I can pretty much name my price and they'll gladly pay it.
Why should I modernise - I'm doing quite well doing things the old fashioned way. I also go to church and pray several times a day.

Actually, I know of no one who ever ground corn to make bread. It was usually wheat! As for the comparison of that practice to that of using faith to define my beliefs, I don't see how it makes us so "behind the times", for the doctrine of faith is timeless! As the Scripture says, "Faith is the EVIDENCE of things not seen, the SUBSTANCE of things not heard". Job once said, "Though my skinworms destroy my body, yet IN MY FLESH I SHALL SEE GOD...." This was a man who had FAITH in the occurrence of the resurrection of the saints even though the Bible doesn't record the fact whether or not Job ever received such formal teaching along these lines! Talk about faith!

I thought a green aura meant balance, peace and harmony, (your avatar)
but in answer to your question, if I knew how to grind corn to make bread instead of tortillas, I probably would, for I enjoy baking and making things and some fresh homemade bread sounds utterly delicious right now. Blessings.

Most bread is made from wheat. Commercial mills still grind the grain into flour in much the same way it has been done for thousands of years. So what's your point? Oh yeah, you have no point.

Values are always changing now as is science, I don't want to believe in what everyone is saying is modern or will change in my children's generation I want to believe in truth and though faith is required for my belief it is not the only thing that makes my belief in God concrete.....

I eat whole wheat bread and buy if from the supermarket. My beliefs are totally and completely effective to me in my life, thanks for asking! Who are you to say that faith isn't effective to me? You do not know the things that I have prayed to my God about and what come of them! I can believe whatever I want, weather it lives up to you definition of "modern"or not, just as you believe (or obviously don't believe) whatever you want. We will have to agree to disagree, i suppose.
