My husband has cronic migraines and was seeing a Neuro for sometime but then stopped going. He has an appt now but in October. He has this migraine that keeps lingering and keeps taking Tyneol PM non stop. Is there any other type of Migraine medicine that is over the counter that would work better than the Tyneol PM?

Your husband is probably suffering from "rebound" migraine headache, which is caused by overuse of over the counter medications for headache. As much OTC meds that he takes, he will not find adequate relief from his migraines and his symptoms might worsen. He needs to go to a migraine specialist ASAP and explain to the specialist what he has been doing to try to relieve his headache. The specialist will/should 1) try to wean him off OTC meds, 2) find adequate migraine and pain-control agents that your husband will need to take according to the specialists recommendations, and 3) recommend other non-medication-based interventions (relaxation techniques, identification of migraine triggers, etc.)

The neurologist he is seeing should have known to do this or recommend him to a migraine specialist.

something to try just to ease the pain a little is Head On. It's a homeopathic stick (looks like a really big tube of chapstick). It won't make it go away, but it usually helps take the edge off. Plus it's homeopathic, so you can use it w/ any otc painkiller. I have killer migraines and it really does give some relief. It's usually on the bottom shelf around advil, tylenol, etc.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Avoid late sleeping if possible;worry, spicy food, sour fruits, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

Tell him to call the doctor and maybe he could be seem sooner. No reason to wait for this long. Maybe he could give him a prescription of something to help alleviate his migraine. If all else fails, go to the ER and tell them this is the worst migraine ever.... you will get everything.....cat scan, and medication. Good luck and hope he feels better.

You might consider taking him to a chiropractor. About 40 years ago, my dad became known across Australia for his ability to alleviate migranes using this technique.

For a $30 visit, it's surely worth a try. See a Palmer graduate.
