Licence sticker got stolen, and got a ticket? Do I need to call police to off set the ticket?

go get a replacement ticket, which should be pennies on the dollar from the original price. present the evidence that your car is registered and that you have replaced the sticker.

Where I live, they have a receipt that you put in your glovebox that shows the status of your registration. Did you show that to the officer? Also, call the county to see if they can do anything about the ticket as your sticker was stolen.

Call DMV to see if you need a police report to replace the sticker. I think you do.

Next time, take a razor and cut an "X" across the sticker after you apply it to the tag. It can't be removed in one piece, making it useless to scumbag thieves.

you'll probably need to see the judge and bring your receipt from the sticker's issuance.
