ok, I'm 19 years old and two nights ago I was with my friend that's a girl and we driving around in her car joking around and I farted by accident not once...but twice. I don't know if she heard it the first time but she definitly heard it the second time being that she rolled the windows down. Then she kind of mentioned it but didn't ask if I farted. I was really embarrassed and she hasn't texted me at all since then which she usually does. I know it's stupid, but would she ditch me as a friend because of that? Do you think I look 'gross' and rude to her now? haha it's stupid but I keep thinking about this. Help please?

I'm a girl. That's just how guys are. I would NEVER lose a friend over some gas ;-)

Don't act different at all. Pretend it never happened. She's probably forgotten about it anyhow.

That's weird. And awkward to say the least. There probably would have been a better way to break the tense moment to make this go over a little better. I can't see losing a friend over a fart or two though. And if you did, I can't really see it as a great friend in the first place. One of the first things I do with my boyfriends is encourage them to be able to fart in front of me- it may seem weird, but I see it as a way of saying "Hey, we're comfortable around one another". I don't want a guy to have to hold in a fart around me, make himself bloated and uncomfortable. So, I can't see why in the world she'd leave you as a friend, she farts too. Everyone does. Perhaps she's just still feeling awkward about it. Text her, and act completely normal like nothing happened. Good luck!

She probably wasn't weirded out by you farting in front of her, but by the awkwardness and avoidance of the issue right afterwards. If you had laughed it off immediately, it probably wouldn't have been a big deal. If she is actually avoiding you right now because of that, it might be because she was uncomfortable with the awkwardness.

Call her (it helps if you're excited about something that she can get caught up in too), act normally, and it will push your friendship right through this weird glitch.

She may have thought it was gross, but I don't think a real friendship can be ruined because of it. I have a friend who does some rather gross things sometimes, but I love him as a friend, he is a great guy, and I wouldn't ditch him because of that. Besides, accidents happen. It's not like you do gross things all the time, right?

If someone thinks your stupid and gross over a fart, then I think they take themselves way too seriously and need to get sense of humour.

When you talk to her, act as though the event never occurred. If it happens again, laugh it off. If she blanks you after that - she's not worth the hassle. Your friends should share all your stupid - even windy - moments with you. Thats what they're there for... ;)

I'ma girl with gas and I've learned that is is better to mention it and say oh, my gosh i'm embarassed, excuse me. Or, if you can joke around, just roll down the window and say "wow, sorry I just had to let that fly."
Not talking about it just makes the other person feel awkward. Most of the time my friends will just keep talking if I say excuse me or, they will say, Geez that reeks! and laugh.

The release of gases from the body is not an accident. If you don't pass gas it can cause problems internally. Get over it, he's just a guy and he passes gas too.

lol, thats pretty funny, but its seems as if you have 'grossed her out'.
She needs to be more mature, obviously we all fart, its apart of life, but next time, try to hold it in or something!!
haha

personally, i think thats rude if someone farts in front of me, so next time, say excuse me, or, 'im sooooo sorry, my stomach has been upset since yesterday' or something like that. Shes probably embarrased for you.

if she ditch you as a friend just because of this, she's bad. nobody can control fart, not even me. i fart when i'm too full, full of gas, in the car, under the blanket, etc.. if i dun get to fart just being polite, i'll get uneasy for the rest of the day
