Satan controls the thermostat, but really he's constrained by the realities of the marketplace.

He's the CEO of Hell Inc., and might appear to have utter control of his domain, but he knows that he has to turn a profit, so can't afford to push the thermostat too high for fear that the fuel costs will impact his bottom line.

It seems that St. Peter found a long line at the pearly gates. The line was INSIDE: the Heavenly concourse of people trying to get out.
He asked the man at the head what the heck was going on. More likely;"What in the name of Heaven is the meaning of this new Exodus?"

'Sir, it seems that a chemical engineer was sent to Hell. He found a whole lot of heat sources freely available. So, he has centrally air-conditioned Hell. We all want to go there.'

Obviously an apocryphal tale if there ever was one. I am a Chem E myself. A Hindu at that. Now I know for certain where I am headed. The coolest warm place.

Physicists are not far behind. One of the snippets in the book,'Random Walk in Science' uses Stephan-Boltzmann law of radiation to prove that Hell is much cooler than Heaven, based on the description in the Bible.

We now know where physicists are going too.

Random Walk in Science, A. Robert Weber

This anthology provides an insight into the wit and intellect of the scientific mind through a blend of amusing and serious contributions written by and about scientists. The contributions record changing attitudes within science and mirror the interactions of science with society. Of interest to everyone with a professional or amateur interest in science.

Most Christian scholars now agree the thermostat in hell is controlled by regular referendae taken among Christians in heaven.

It's generally thought the temperature will vary, depending on which denomination has gone the longest time without splitting.

God doesnt want anything to do with hell....the ppl that go there are the ones that reject him. Hell is full of evil and suffering and demonic activity, and God is not like that and he wants nothing to do with it.......SO if Satan "turned up the temperature" i would say that God simply wouldnt care

God isn't the one who would put them there. We've been through this before........

I don't know who controls the temp. Probably some cheap heating and air place that Satan found on sale.

It's like a nursing home; Satan has direct control, but God will levy fines if it's too cool.

It's hard to control the temperature in a non-existent place.

Something to think about indeed. The fires of hell were started by God, so I'd imagine he set it to one temperate.
That would be
Summer, Oven, Equator, HELL!
He chose this one.
