I can't understand why anyone would visit Egypt in the summertime. Don't get me wrong, I love Egypt. I just won't go in the summertime when everyone suffers, and it's so hot that it's hard to breathe, that's all.
Why do so many tourists do this to themselves? Why put yourself through such hell? Egypt is a fantastic country, and one can get much more enjoyment and appreciate it more if they're not thinking about their immense discomfort from the heat. Why not go during colder months instead?
I'm going again in January 2008 and can't wait, woohoo!

There is not relief period from the heat in the mornings and evenings, it's hot all the time there. Even at 2am, it's around 80F. With temperatures like this, you can imagine how it feels at 10am, or at 6pm. Ugh!

cool! i'm glad you have said this because i am going with my family to Egypt and we decided to go in October when the weather will be great but not unbearable. i never knew that it would be hard to breathe in the summer heat-i agree, why would anyone go in such horrible conditions?maybe they just don't realise what it will be like and i am sure that once a person endures it once, they will book for january or october the next time!
i can't wait either, woohoo! have a great time.

well i know in Jamaica (another hot place in the summer) the hotel rates and flights , if booked in advance are a little cheaper. i suppose a lot of people think like you and do not really like to go to these places in the heat of summertime, so they drop some prices to attract tourists. so some people don't mind the heat if they can save the money i guess.

July and August are the traditional vacation times in Europe, and yes they happen to be the hottest times of year for Egypt.
Besides, I'm sure at the worst time of the day (midday) most people are in the shade having lunch or napping getting ready for the night of partying they might be doing. That leaves the bearable morning and late afternoon for beach activities and tanning.

Most people have vacation time in the summer. It's hot practically everywhere in the summer, so why not go to Egypt?

When you go there ask for a camel thats super charged. It's one that takes in more water than the regular camel and therefore last longer. and moves faster . The breeze helps keep you cooler.
The way they "super charge" the camel to drink more water is when they see the camel is taking his last swig , the owner slams two bricks together ,on the camels balls. This causes the camel to " SSSSSSSSSIPPPPP .the last swig of water.
I ask the owner ..."Doesn't that hurt ????"
He said "Only if I get my thumbs between the bricks.

The only thing I can think of is because it's when families can go, because schools out, and the summer time is when most people take their vacations

I am going to Isreal next June, hopefully it won't be too hot then. The summer is the only time we can go.
