0500 = 5am
0400 = 4am
2200 = 10pm
2359 = 11:59pm
From noon till midnight add 12 hours to the existing time will give you military time
From Midnight till Noon add a 0 ( zero ) in front of the current time.

0500 - 5 AM
0400 - 4 AM
2000 - 8 PM
2200 - 10 PM

aniything with a leading zero is before noon afterwards subtract 2 from it in that 1300(3-2=1pm) 2200 (2-2=0 therefore 10pm

They are not only "military time" Most nations in the world use the 24 hour clock.

anything with a 0 in front is am so its 5 am and so on..once you hit 12pm 1pm=1300.and so on all you need to is subtract 12...

this is the military time: 0100 (a.m.), 0200 (a.m)....etc...
then 1200 (p.m.), 1300 (p.m)... etc... until 2300... then it's 0000 (12 midnight)... and starts over again> 0100 (1:00 a.m.)... and so forth.

> 4:00 a.m.
> 10:00 p.m.
> 11:59 p.m.... and 2000 is 8:00 p.m.
Germany goes by the military time.
