Before wearing make-up, take care of your skin first. Do you cleanse it morning and night with a cleanser for your skin (dry, normal, oily?). Put moisturizer on in morning and night. Take off your eye make-up, too. Do you have any acne problems, or just minor blackheads and such? Make sure you have the correct product for your skin. Oh, don't forget to put moisturizer all over your body, and also your neck! People seem to forget about the neck.

One girl I went to high school with wore a foundation that made her face turn orange (wrong shade, obviously). She wore the same shade from 9th grade to 12th grade. And she wore it heavy. Do you want to go around like that? Make sure your colors blend in with your skin.

Your mom is probably having a hard time realizing her "baby" is growing up. Is there a reason why she says 16? Is that when she started wearing it? No one is right or wrong in this situation. I've known girls who were 13 and 14 wearing more make-up than I do (I wear base, blush, eye liner, mascara, and lipstick or gloss). They wore all that, plus put it on heavily and twice as dark. Keep things light and in the pink or peach shades (depending on your skin color). Make sure your teeth are brushed every day (you don't want that green piece of brocolli showing up on your front tooth).

I wonder why you pluck your eyebrows. Have you gone to a professional to have them done? Are they too thin? Best thing is to talk to your mom about this without your little sister around.

I won't answer the "whose wrong?" question because it can go either way on this.

I will say, however, that there's a difference between wearing makeup and wearing too much makeup. Your makeup routine shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. If it does, then you're wearing too much.

At 15 though, I don't understand why you're wearing foundation?? It only clogs your pores and damages young skin. Perhaps you should try to find a face powder instead.

HEEEY!! LISTEN TO ME!!!THIS IS DEADLY!!!! THIS IS OF VITAL IMPORTANCE!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE READ!!!

Sorry, but I had to write that. Otherwise, what good reason would you have had to look at my answer? I'm like, what, 10th in line?? LOL. So now that you've wasted your time reading my pathetic headline, would you pretty please read my response?? ( ^ :

Hey, I'm 15 and I'm not allowed to wear any makeup. But I have no problem with it. Why? The main reason people wear makeup is to cover up their flaws, wrinkles or scars... and I don't have any of those. Makeup also clogges your pores, causing pimples ( which is why star have makeup... you rarely see them without it...) and right now, I'm betting you want flawless skin, which is what I want too. But in order to do that, you have to eat right and stay fit, not wear makeup. Flaunt the beautiful, natural skin while you have it! (wouldn't you rather have a nice glowing natural face? With makeup, people get used to you looking nice with it on... and then they think you're ugly w/out it...)

My mom let me pluck my eyebrows. I don't see any problem in that. Try explaining to your mom that getting your eyebrows done does nothing to your face, and that it is perfectly OK.

P.S. Don't listen to people who say that you're just a kid or say that your parents are in the wrong. They are obviously not doing what's best for you. You are now a young woman. But this does not mean that you need to go haywire against your parents! You still need to respect them, because they still are your loving parents ( I know, I'm sounding like a grandma right about now). I'm sure that you are pretty, and I'm sure that there are years to come before you need to wear a "mask(s)". Lol. Best of Luck!

Hope I helped!

Most girls that are in Jr. high wear make up. I let my daughter pluck her eye brows when she was that age, better than caterpillars on your forehead, or uni brow. Not so sure about the white eyeliner tho, maybe brown. I don't think tho that you should go against your mom, maybe talk to her and tell her you will tune it down some. Good Luck

Plucking eyebrows is old fashioned. Why do you want to do such a thing? As far as makeup, wear a little lip gloss and forget about the Halloween eye liner. A clean, fresh look is much better (and much sexier) than the artificial look you're displaying.

I think your sister should stay out of it becuase she's not in charge of anything you do with your eyebrows and makeup, so just ignore her. As for your mom; she CAN tell you when you can start to put on makeup. If I were you I would try and compromise with your mom on the makeup issue.

I dont think plucking eyebrows is that big of a deal...im 14 and my mom takes me to have my eyebrows done when i need to...otherwise my eyebrows look really bad. I wear foundation too, and mascara, eyeshadow but i dont look like a clown or anything its modest. and your older than me !!

If you go over board with the colors or put on too much, they might want to save you from the criticism.

at your age, you don't need much make up, but i'll agree it's fun to experiment.

there isn't much difference between 15 and 16 in age.. that doesn't make sense.

what is up with the white eyeliner?

take care.

You're just a kid. Yes, girls your age wear makeup, and to be honest, they don't need it, in fact, at your age, natural is better.
