I am 13 weeks pregnant and due for a promotion (Army NCO)
does anyone know if my pregnancy could prevent my promotion? Are there any regs on this?

I will eventually talk with my Command about this but as we all know it is best to sit down fully loaded with as much info as one can get.

I will say it again Tammy, I will talk to my chain of command as soon as I have enough information about the regs... if you knew anything about the Army you would know that it is better to do as much research on your own before you start asking questions or potentially waste anyone's time.

If you have all your required annual training ( ie rifle range, pft score ) completed, have the promotion points and the slot is open, there is no reason why you should not get promoted.

i dont know about pregnancy, but i do know that unless its a permanent profile youcant be on profile and get promoted. pregnancy isnt permanent. women get all kinds of profiles when they get pregnant. now if shes promotable and gets pregnant she will still get promoted. i dont think she can go to the board.

I believe that this falls under discrimination if they don't give you the promotion due to pregnancy. I would speak with someone in regards to this and try to iron out any problems that could arrise. You certainly don't need to add any stress to yourself.

Promotion should be allowed.

Denial based on pregnancy is a violation of your rights as a woman and the Army could be sued on the grounds of discrimination.

As long as you can do the job as assigned you should get your promotion.
