Mansions does not mean a literal house. Mansions is truly translated as a dwelling place. Jesus was saying in my Father there are many dwelling places and I go to prepare a place for you.

It is sad, but some Christians still believe that they will get some big mansion in the clouds.....when that is not the true translation. It means that we will dwell in the Father with Christ, our home will be "in" Him.

Friend.

I think by saying that Christ made it clear that Every Mansion that is in the universe is His Father's.So in all mansions in the universe you can see the Father, the God.
Every person's heart. every animate body's heart is a mansion. If you understand that way whatever you see is Father's House only.So whatever that exists is nothing But GOD.
Heaven and the dwelling places like colonies there does not fit the spiritual meaning of the person who spoke them.Christ speaks in simple words ,but conveys deep meanings. It is my humble opinion.

Great Question.
I have some weird thoughts on this.
Many times in the Bible the word house or tabernacle is used to describe a human body. I have a feeling he was talking about glorified bodies. It could also be talking about literal mansions. Which ever it really is will still rock.

This simply means there is room for all.

There are many "resting places" is the literal translation.

A resting place can be in a shaded area, or at the dining table, or a place to sleep.

I like to remember that folks reclined when eating at this time and that a bed was often a simple soft mat. That a cool drink of water and a place to sit in the shade was valued.

God offers us the very best.

A mansion is a place to live. It means that there are many houses in Heaven for believers to live in.

Jesus was trying to explain to his disciples that they would join him in heaven when they left this earthly existance. What he was talking about would have been well known to Jewish believers because we are told in Hebrews 11:16, that even OT faithful were looking for a heavenly city that they knew God had prepared for them.

yes it is a house, actualy a palace...In the life of saint Nifon it is shown that those who belived in Jesus and did good things will go in Heaven, get palaces(castle)exactely, we shall not live suspended, in the air....ladies and gentlemen...Jesus is a clever God, in Apocalips is decribed the royal palace of God, God is not cxheater if He described His palace , yes there is a big palace there and those 12 gates of gold and wals of gold with precious stones..God doesn't lie..and we shall get palaces..in the life of saint Nifon is also written that the virgins who followed the Blessed Virgin shall get beautifull dresses..so we will look exactely like humans but more bautiful...and the other interpretations , sorry..but one is Saint John..and not the pope..or other patriarhs!

Another translation of this is, "in my Father's dwelling place or palace there are many apartments "and there is room for everyone who is elected to be there and is willing to be there.

If Christ is still in this physical realm then he might say something to the line above:

"In our brain's are many neurons"

"In our body's are many cells"

"In our universe's are many stars"

"In our world's are many lives"

As above so below.
