It depends on the Mormon (assuming male, here) that is elected. If he is married, and if he has only one wife, then there's no problem

If he is married and has more than one wife, then there's 2 things to consider-
1) He's in violation of Mormon guidelines and should be excommunicated... so he wouldn't technically be "Mormon" anyway...
2) He's a criminal and not elegible to run anyway... again, no problem.

If the Mormon in question is a woman, then that's a whole new can of worms... but again, the same basic guidelines apply.

Plural marriage was made illegal in the late 1800's, so I see this as a silly question posted simply to make people mad.

Sorry- all you did was make me laugh.

Well, in regards to the first poster's comments. Most mormons aren't bigamous anymore.

There are still pockets of "radical" mormons who hold the belief of many wives.

What scares me more than them having multiple wives is that the mormons I have talked with tend to follow their religion rather closely.......which is not really a good thing for a president.

A president should hold his religion to himself and act in a way that is best for the country and civil rights. Even if that action would be against their religious convictions. Example: legalizing gay marriage.

Not all Mormons are polygamist, very few are actually. It's only a few Mormon groups that practice polygamy, one notable group in located in Utah. Mitt Romney is not part of any of these Mormon groups, he has one wife.

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

(Pearl of Great Price | Articles of Faith 1:12)

By this, it states clearly a Mormon will sustain the law of the land, President or not. So all yours and others baseless assumption is inaccurate.

Interestingly enough, the Mormon is the only one that hasn't had multiple wives. Check it out.
