I didn't call the police when it happened. I had no cell reception. Then when I called the next day I was already 2+hrs away and the sheriff said he had to see the damages.

file a report with your insurance company, also file with police department give them the person involved if you have her tag #
and or address they can get her..
if the person who hit you has a answering machine leave a message telling them in a nice but stern voice if they do not contact you with insurance info etc. that you will turn over to police, and insurance company, also check for witnesses
at the hit area...........by law they are to pay for repairs through
insurance or out of pocket..

Have you filed a police report? This is the first step you need to take. Some insurance companies will help you. I had the same problem and the company (State Farm) filed charges and got the owner and his son (who actually hit my car) drivers license suspended until the costs were paid.

Dude, if there have been no witnesses, no person gothurt, and the wear became minor or maybe major.. id save it to myself. Now if u had insurance on the time, and are compelled to return forth, u do no longer inevitably ought to flow in the path of the insurance to settle issues. Cuz which will inevitably reason it insurance yo flow up. What i've got completed in the previous in ur subject became arise with a settlement with the guy whose motor vehicle I hit that reported how lots i ought to pay in installments to pay for the damages. That way, ur able to pay, in increments, for the motor vehicle to be repaired. this way, its ur accountability to do the right concern whilst no longer having to handle the legalities, assuming that u save ur end of the settlement. If u fail to then the guy u hit can then take u to courtroom and sue u. save ur end of the settlement and your possibly to under no circumstances ought to flow by way of all the drama.

your best bet is to let them try. do you have the tag number of the liable party's vehicle. that would be most helpful if you have collision they'll fix it, you pay a deductible, and when they subrogate the damages from the other insurance company they will reimburse you.
