I grew some this year and they are getting big. I've never eaten it before, I don't know who to cook it or what to do with it, really. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I LOVE spaghetti squash! Cut the squash in half, deseed the center. Place it flesh side down in a pan or casserole dish. Fill with water (til approx 1 inch deep). Bake 350 for at least 1 hr. The flesh will be tender and stringy (not to mention delicious). If your oven is not properly calibrated, it may take longer. Squash is definitely a time sucker, but soooooo worth it. (You can also crock pot it & forget it)

Howdy there... Ok so you have a spaghetti squash, best is set oven at 350, cut in half length wise, take out seeds and put a small pat of butter on it and then sprinkle a VERY little brown sugar, cook for 40 minutes and then eat with a fork, delicious...

here it is...

Spaghetti Squash

1 whole spaghetti squash (about 2 lb.)

1/4 cup KRAFT 100% Grated Parmesan Cheese

2 Tbsp. butter, melted

PIERCE squash several times with fork or sharp knife to allow steam to escape. Microwave on HIGH 12 min. or until tender, turning over after 6 min. Let stand 5 min.

CUT squash in half. Remove and discard seeds. Use fork to scrape insides of squash to form strands; place in large bowl.

ADD cheese and butter; toss to coat.

Prep Time: 10 min
Total Time: 27 min
Makes: 6 servings, 1/2 cup each

Cut the squash in half lengthwise, put cut-side down in a shallow baking dish (sometimes I add a little water and olive oil) Cover with foil and bake in a 350° oven until a knife is easily inserted into the shell.

Remove the "strands" by scraping cross-wise with a fork.

A good way to serve this is to toss the squash with olive oil and italian herbs, then put in a casserole, top with any kind of tomato sauce, and then cheeses (mozzarella and parmesan are good), and bake.

You're really onto something. Spaghetti squash is one of my favorite foods. It can be used like any pasta, with standard spaghetti sauces. It's also great with just butter and salt. Recipes using shrimp are also great.

first borrow a chain saw from a tree surgeon to cut the thing in half. place cut sides down on parchment paper on top of foil and roast in oven 375 for at least one hour- check after that for pinchability. serve plain with herbs and spices or with spaghetti sauce

I nuke ours or do it in the oven with water in the pan, cut side down til the flesh is cooked.
We like to eat ours with butter and sauteed onions, just mix it up with the strands. Also freezes well once cooked.

ohhhh yummy!
all you have to do is cut it lengthwise, remove the seeds and place it in a microwave safe dish cut side down in some water. Nuke it for 15-20 minutes and then enjoy it with some parmesan.
