There have always been slaves, but in America its against the law, so Christians shouldn't have them.

And what religion are you most learned one? The funny thing about you is that your brain is more than slightly underused. Obviously, this passage is not meant to be interpreted literally, just as the phrase,"eat my body and drink my blood" is not meant to be interpreted literally. Perhaps this passage is in refrence to a employee-manager relationship, not a slave-master relationship where God is telling the employee to be faithful to his "master" aka employer.

It is all about submitting to the master so that the master could see Jesus in you.

What is the fate of the one that rejects Jesus?
