Throughout my life and more and more, I've heard on the radio and it happened to many of my friends that the boys in their family rape or sexually abuse their sister(as young as 6-8 or 11-13).

What do they all have in common? They all grew up in Christian/Catholic homes.

Why is this and how can society put a stop to this??

whoever said that stuff about the dog has some problems. i went throught that and yes it is them just trying to figure out about there sexuality. and they should look up porn or masturbate. it isn't right to do that to the girls, dogs or whatever. but they need to be able to have there time to do there thing on there own.

If someone can come up with the answer to this they will do better than most individuals who work these cases around the world. It is difficult at best to find any commonality among predators of children or adults. There has been no one answer that has been devised to explain why an adult or a child perpetrates against another individual. Usually, if a child/teen is sexually assaulting another child they themselvevs have been abused in the past. As for adults, who knows. There can be a variety of reasons, or no reason at all. Just sicko's. I have my masters degree in criminal justice and this is one area that I have attempted to study...No answers found yet. Some believe it is a biological reason or phsycological... while others believe its due to the environment. There is no one answer. This doesn't make society feel good or safe, but thats where it stands.

Statistically there is NO correlation between sexual abuse and Christian homes. That is a big, fat myth perpetuated by the real-life problem of some catholic priests. If you really think that Catholics and Christians are the only people who sexually abuse their children, then you are sadly mistaken. This is a problem that is happening in pretty much every corner of our society. And the children who do this are almost always mimicking what has happened to them.

That said, the way to stop this in society is simple: People need to be educated on the subject (perpetuating myths about Christians does NOT help at all) and how common it is, and people need to start reporting this crap when it happens. Too many people are too quick to "mind their own business" and make excuses not to get involved. THAT is why this keeps happening. Any child that has been abused has a witness out there that can help them. That witness just needs to be a decent human being and step up and speak out.

People are afraid to believe that this really happens. I'm sad to say from my work in victim services that it happens all too often. What a lot of people try to do, then, is to find someone to blame, be it religion or alcohol or drugs or whatever. No one wants to believe that it could happen to them or someone they know, and no one wants to believe that it is a overarching societal problem. That reflects poorly on all of us. Overcome that bad attitude, and you can overcome the problem itself.

i think that since they are going through puberty and feel the urge to know what sex feels like. but either way that is not a reason to abuse of little Innocent girls if they have an urge the should get the dog. i know that it sounds harsh but it is better than killing the innocence of a little girl.

I don't know why that is....if it's happening in the home, it must be dealt with in the home....then seek counseling for the kids.

I feel like I was born on another planet....I swear times are getting worse.
