Well, if it's dry it needs MOISTURE! :D
This is something I learned from one of William Sledd's fashion advice videos when he had his hairdresser for an interview.
You'll need:
Olive oil
Saran wrap
A warm towel
& Shampoo to get it all out with :D
First you'll need olive oil. You can get it at places like Kroger or Walmart in the aisle with all the cooking oils. Put some olive oil in a cup, enough of it to cover all of your hair. Then microwave it so it's warm. Whenever it's warm, put it on your hair. After you have all the nasty, slimy olive oil on your head, cover your hair with the saran wrap and put a warm towel over it like a turban. :] Then wait until all of it cools down, and when you take a shower, shampoo it twice. DO NOT use conditioner!! I used conditioner the first time I did this(because I had a 2 in 1 shampoo & conditioner) and ew was my hair greasy. It'll still feel sort of slimy, but whenever you dry it it should be soft and fluffy. x] Good luck. :D

Buy a good deep conditioner Use Twice a week for 3 weeks then 1 a week after that. Always use a heat protecter when u are using heat on your hair (blowdrying, curling iron, flat iron. ). Do not bake your hair in the sun keep it under wraps or use a leave in sun protecter. Do not wash your hair everyday. Go everyother day. Do not use a flat iron everyday. Use a good quality salon shampoo and conditioner for dry hair. That should get u to where u need to be..Follow that And u will be on your way. Also you can use Aussi conditioner and shampoo.

I agree with Rhiannon G, olive oil does help with dry hair. As does Coconut oil, Coconut Oil is really the best thing you can put in your hair, next to olive oil. Also coconut milk as a conditioner works really well too.
If you're looking for any over the counter products, Herbal Essence, Hydration conditioner works wonders! Your hair will be very soft and shiny. Good Luck.
**** EDIT***** I found this book and thought about this question, it's a book of home remedies, its called: Natural Beauty at Home by Janice Cox

Use sulfate free shampoos since sulfates dry out and roughen up your hair. They're so much gentler so you can use them daily if you need to. Also use weekly hair masks with stuff like honey, olive oil, avocado, banana, eggs or even mayo helps. Look up the Pro Natural’s hair care line on the internet and get what you want from them, anything of theirs helps since argan oil is really really good for making hair soft and shiny. Oh and get regular trims, you don't want split ends ruining everything.

if you dont have a really good conditioning treatment, you can do the same thing we do at our salon, all you do is get a really good conditioner, after you wash your hair and twell dry a little, put it all overyour hair, and then put a bad over it, use your blow dryer for the heat, to make it really sink into your hair. so that for about two min. then put a towell around it, and go to bed with it like that. in the morning wash it out, and you should have really great shiny conditioned hair! ~melanie~

I had a stylist once who told me that washing the conditioner out of your hair in the shower made using it pointless. She told me to instead take a dime sized amount and rub it into the bottom 1/2 of my hair after towel drying in gently.
Also, if you check out beauty supply stores sometimes products that are labeled for African American hair work better.

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://tr.im/HairLossTreatments
While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

I have quite long hair (halfway down my back) with highlights that used to be like grass, but I found that Sunsilk's Intensive Treatment, Damage Repair (For damaged and brittle hair) REALLY TRULY works wonders. My hairdresser (who usually tried to sell me expensive salon stuff that I couldn't possibly afford) absolutely loves my hair now, and the best thing is that it's really affordable. Try it, you'll love it! =)
